Sam's Club Steps Up Initiative to Help Small Business Save Smartly
Sam's Club Associate Candy Halko reviews a cost comparison with Robin Darby of the R.F. Knox Co. Inc. in Smyrna GA. Sam's Club has committed to help 100,000 small businesses as part of the Small Business Savings Drive.
On a mission to help small business owners find at least $270 million in savings, Sam's Club Associates nationwide have been actively visiting small businesses to demonstrate the value of a Sam's Club small business membership through a comprehensive cost comparison. By comparing the prices of frequently used, everyday business supplies such as coffee cups, printer paper, and other items critical to that business, Sam's Club has been able to demonstrate substantial savings to the small business owner when those very same items are purchased through Sam's Club.
In a recent telephone interview with Bloomberg writer Chris Burritt, Catherine Corley, Sam's Club vice president of Small Business, spoke about a recent cost comparison performed during the Sam's Club Small Business Savings Drive. "For instance, a real estate office in Tulsa, Oklahoma, was paying 5 cents apiece for 12-ounce foam coffee cups," Corley said. "Sam's price was 2 cents, helping the company save more than $1,300 a year."
Since the kick-off of the Savings Drive, more than 40,000 small businesses have been contacted and Sam's Club completed cost comparisons for them identifying more than $74 million in potential savings.
